Summer Graphic Design Classes

“You guys will never be forgotten by me nor by my son. You were one of the good things that happened to him - you have no idea.”

We are planning two one-week graphic design courses for this Summer.

Date and time to be announced.

These classes are intended to introduce high school students to the coursework and expectations of a college art program. Students will have their current work reviewed by Brian Miller and Alex White who will provide specific feedback and action steps intended to improve their presentation for art school interviews. The assignments will introduce principles of letterform abstraction, figure-ground relationship, spatial arrangement and craftsmanship – all key aspects of college-level design study.

Students will receive a complimentary copy of Alex White’s book, Thinking in Type The Elements of Graphic Design: Space, Unity, Page Architecture, and Type, and Brian Miller’s book Above the Fold: Understanding the Principles of Successful Web Site Design, both signed by the authors.
